Master thesis on climate change in the tourism industry was awarded

Sofia Lindholm has been awarded a grant of 25,000 SEK from Sparbanksstiftelsen Skåne for her Master's thesis for Service Management, ”Climate change social movements in a tourism context”.

The nomination reads as follows:

Sofia Lindholm’s study has identified the linkage between climate change and tourism industry in a highly creative and relevant way. The study examines the goals, motives and ideas behind the social movements within the travel sphere in an attempt to find out how the social movements by using social medias aim to influence individuals, decision- and policy-makers and how they try to mobilize people within the domain.  Her master thesis is well written, with good discussion and analysis and the societal relevance is high.

The winner was announced on June 11 during the graduation ceremony for Master's students of the Faculty of Social Sciences.
